The management of the Ural Federal University (UFU) and Engineering and Technology Center GET JSC (JSC ETC GET, part of Rosatom State Corporation) signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of educational activities and development of engineering personnel on May 3, 2023. The result of these agreements was the opening of JSC ETC GET School of Simulation at the University - the event will be solemnly held on November 22, 2023.

The simulation school is designed to develop talented young people - senior students of UFU, who are going to make their professional life in the field of mathematical modeling, as well as to train qualified personnel to work with the domestic technology of simulator construction, founded by ETC GET more than 30 years ago and still used today.

The opening ceremony will be attended by representatives of JSC ETC GET headed by Managing Director Alexey Kovalevich, Rector of the UFU Victor Koksharov, as well as representatives of the largest industrial enterprises of the country. The student community of UFU will have a unique opportunity not only to learn about the domestic innovative platform for mathematical modeling REPEAT “firsthand”, but also to ask potential employers questions.

The simulation school in Ekaterinburg will be the sixth in the growing network of engineering and mathematical schools of JSC ETC GET: students already learn the basics of mathematical modeling at KSPEU (Kazan), TPU (Tomsk), DSTU (Rostov-on-Don), KubSTU (Krasnodar), and MPEI (Moscow).

The “School of Simulation” is implemented within the framework of the “Simulation Factory” industry project. The project is aimed at training young specialists with an appropriate set of competencies to work in the field of nuclear power.

The main project goal is to create a permanent candidate pool of students and graduates of the supporting universities in the Russian Federation regions, who have successfully completed the joint training program, to implement JSC ETC GET international projects.
