The annual Russia-China Energy Business Forum, established in 2018 on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, was held in the Chinese capital from the 19th to the 20th of October 2023. The purpose of the forum is to develop a dialog between Russia and China in the energy sector, improve efficiency and expand the number of joint projects, and attract investments.

The busy forum programme included process excursions - the participants were introduced to the CNPC engineering and technology research institute's product line, and also studied the latest achievements in the field of oil and gas field intellectualization and digitalization of processes in the work of the Kunlun Digital Technology Company under CNPC.

The business program of the forum included sessions and round tables devoted to nuclear power, high-tech coal mining, green energy transition and energy security.

Evgeny Potekhin, Head of the Digital Twin Project Office, took part in the forum on behalf of JSC ETC GET, giving a presentation on “Digital Twin in Nuclear Power” at the round table “Digital Nuclear Power”. As part of his speech, Evgeny told the event participants about JSC ETC GET products and solutions- including full-scope simulators, digital twins and REPEAT software, and shared the effects of their implementation.

This year the forum was attended by more than 400 participants - representatives of major companies from the energy, financial and IT sectors, political and public officials, diplomats and experts from Russia and China.

The 6th Russia-China Energy Business Forum will be held next year in Russia.
