Unique work was carried out at Kozloduy NPP to measure the geometry of the reactor baffle of power unit 6. The operations were performed by Russian specialists in cooperation with the Bulgarian ones. After receipt of measurement results, specialists will be able to assess the baffle deformation under temperature and radiation effects during operation as well as unambiguously determine the lifetime of internals of power units 5 and 6 of Kozloduy NPP. Calculations made on the basis of these measurements shall confirm the envisaged 60-year service life. Measurement is one of the operations envisaged during long-term operation of power units 5 and 6 of Kozloduy NPP. Implementation of such a complicated project was made possible thanks to the high qualification of specialists of Rusatom Service JSC and partner companies Diakont JSC, Gazproekt-DKR LLC and CNII KM PROMETEI.
